Also, Yahoo! gives you access to some of their Premium content areas. Like with SBC Yahoo! DSL, you get a whopping 11 e-mail addresses, each with 10 megs of storage, plus 15 extra megs for your mail email account. (That's a lot of space for your old email!) And you get up to 760 MB online storage.

For those with kids, Yahoo! also offers the SBC Yahoo! parental filters to keep the Web safe for them. You can choose and block which sites (based on specific sites or words on those sites) that your kids can visit, and you can personalize the settings for each child.

Of course, since it's dialup, you don't get the benefits of not losing access to phone line when you're online.

Basically, because its dialup Internet service is so similar to its DSL Internet access product, the decision between Yahoo!'s broadband Internet access and its dialup comes down to price. At $15.95 with a six-month contract, it's definitely not what I'd call a cheap ISP but the special features might appeal to some. The parental control feature is worthwhile, and Yahoo! does offer a good amount of streaming video and audio, like LAUNCH, its music service.

Considering the other options out there for dialup, though, you can probably find better value elsewhere. On the other hand, if you are already a customer of SBC's local phone service, adding SBC Yahoo! Dial could be a good move -- it will save you time and money from switching to other providers.
